HOPE SQUAD
WHAT IS HOPE SQUAD?
Hope Squad is a school-based, peer-to-peer suicide prevention program that trains students to connect with classmates who may be struggling with mental health issues and refer them to adult help. Students are nominated by their peers and are trained by adult advisors on how to recognize distress, have supportive conversations, and guide fellow students to professional help, but they are not meant to act as counselors themselves. The program aims to reduce suicide risk, decrease stigma around mental health, and foster a culture of connection within the school community.
